Last week I got a visit from a person doing a domestic tourism survey for the government. I don’t know where they’re going with it but I know for sure that getting around and enjoying our beautiful country, is difficult for a lot of South Africans.
There are so many places to see in South Africa but the country lacks the necessary infrastructure, in terms of public train and bus systems for travelling; this has resulted in a weak culture of tourism and travel in its citizens. Travelling within South Africa often requires a lot of money and effort, and this has a big impact on the decision whether travelling is practical or not. This potentially affects the scope of opportunity for many people.
