The way people sit in cabs

The other day I was commuting by cab and happened to see two other cabs on either side of mine at the signal. Both were occupied by a single passenger each. That’s when the thought struck me that the way people sit in cabs when they are alone is quite revealing about their state of mind.

For example, a lady will almost always sit on the extreme left near the window at the back. She will hardly ever sit behind the driver’s seat. This probably is due to the rearview mirror reason, though it must be said here that the driver can view almost the entire backseat in his rearview mirror. In fact, it makes more sense to sit right behind the driver, because then he cannot see you properly in the mirror.
